My name’s Jonathon Bartlett.
Call me jb if you like.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in-house for agencies, helped build businesses from the ground up as Editor-in-Chief and delivered plenty of paragraphs for freelance clients, too.
Not that it means much in 2022 (let’s be honest) but I’m a Broadcast Journalism graduate from the University of Leeds. After watching my peers toss their caps into the sky, I spent the next five years between Leeds, London and Toronto before returning to Birmingham to ply my trade.
I’ve got two fingers just to the side of the windpipe of popular culture. I ran my own print magazine as a teenager before going on to help build one of the most exciting British media outfits of the twenty-tens.
So, from hazily covering European festivals, conjuring restaurant reviews for beer mags, writing scripts for Facebook ads, emailing middle-aged women to shout about gin, to crafting Twitter competitions that trended top 10 in the UK, let’s just say I’ve sown my editorial oats.
